Drivetrain, Speedo,Tyres, Ignition, Strange Tales.

 

Why electronic ignition? The system fitted to my non-Rover engine. Systems available for Series Land Rover engines.

For Series II/IIA/III. Here is a table comparing the overall drivetrain ratios for all the gearboxes and transfer cases. The figures have been laboriously recalculated by me and corrected where necessary.

For Series II/IIA/III. Here is a table giving the actual gear ratios for each gearbox, the overall drivetrain ratio and the number of wheel revolutions per 1000 engine rpm. This is a handy one for determining the likely performance for a given tyre size.
